Description:
This is a 1956 Chevy short bed, 3100 series pick up. This truck has a very
unusual history. This is what I was told by the previous owner. The truck was
purchased new by the Federal Government, Department of the Interior. It was
assigned to an Indian reservation. The sticker is still on the door from new.
When it was retired from service, it was stored away somewhere and more or
less forgotten about for some 35 years. I don't know much more other than
someone got it, now it is running, (quite well actually), starting and stopping,
etc. Totally stock original, with optional 4 speed manual floor shift with a
granny gear. The body has some rust in the cab corners, bottom of front
fenders, and over one headlight. Has lots of nicks and dings. Bed wood is still
there and not bad. Little red box on right side of cab, are kerosene lanterns,
Really a neat old piece, with great history.
